Release Notes

CA:FeX Specifications

  • Added clarifying statement that querying for a CapabilityStatement is an expected pre-requisite for being able to query a source. However, it is not required to be conducted at the beginning of every session so as to avoid forcing performance costs on clients that interact with known servers that do not update their security services and/or supported capabilities frequently.
  • Updated the narrative describing the rationale for identifying more than one document search pattern. Further clarified the limits and benefits of the surfaced patterns.
  • Added the Query Search Parameter: status in support of stakeholder input.
  • Removed separate line for composition from Query Search Parameter table to prevent confusion that all composition search params must be supported.
  • Consolidated Glossary of Terms and Acronyms for pan-Canadian interoperability specifications (e.g. PS-CA, CA:FeX) and related interoperability content (e.g. Projectathon).

Coming Soon

  • The Privacy Toolkit, Interoperability Challenge Accepted: A Privacy Toolkit for Canadian Jurisdictions, to support interoperability initiatives will be introduced with the PS-CA Specifications v1.0 Trial Implementation.

Architecture/Implementation

Business rules for how a document management system manages documents it has received (e.g., when is it appropriate to delete a document, how long should it archived, when should the system alert users of new information, etc.) is outside of the scope of what this specification is intended for. However, there is an opportunity to discuss some of these scenarios on day three of the Projectathon and assess what instruments should be added to the specification to potentially support submitter choice when transferring documents (similar to how MHD expresses directives).
