Under each activity, you will find a checklist of actions / pre-requisites for participants. This schedule provides an overview of the pre-Projectathon and Projectathon activities, including dates for the four webinars and the timeframe for each of the four phases of the 2023 Projectathon (Registration, Pre-Projectathon Testing, Connectivity Testing, and the Projectathon event).

Registration Webinar: January 12, 2023, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM ET


Please join us on January 12th from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM ET for the Projectathon 2023 Registration Webinar. This webinar will include the following:

  • Register your system here. A registration webinar was held on January 12th which explains how to register. To watch a recording of the webinar, see section Registration Webinar above. For additional registration and account setup tips, refer to How to Create Your Account in Gazelle.pdf.
  • Confirm your business and technical leads that will be the point of contact for the Projectathon.
  • Register as a member of the Patient Summary Working Group here to receive updates and notifications about the Projectathon.
  • Stay up-to-date with the Projectathon preparation materials found on the InfoScribe pages. Click the “Watch” buttons to stay up-to-date on changes and new content.
  • Update your calendar with the important webinar dates listed below. Webinars details can be found in the Events Calendar.

Schedule of Pre-Projectathon Activities

This section includes a list of Pre-Projectathon activities, with dates, descriptions and actions for participants to complete. All participants should complete the registration process prior to these activities, as described in the How to Register section above. 

Pre-Projectathon Testing Webinar: February 8, 2023, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM ET


The purpose of this webinar is to provide an overview of the following:

  • Gazelle, including Gazelle Test Manager, simulators and validators
  • Pre-Projectathon Testing, including objectives, requirements, and test processes

Actions for participants

  • Watch the training videos available on the Test Tools and Training page prior to this session. This will give you an opportunity to come prepared with any questions you may have.

Pre-Projectathon Testing: February 8 - March 15, 2023


A pre-Projectathon webinar was held on February 8, 2023, providing an overview of how to complete the pre-Projectathon tests. The video recording is available in the Pre-Projectathon Testing Webinar section above.

Actions for participants

  • Perform Pre-Projectathon Testing here. Once you are logged in, please ensure that you are operating in the Pan-Canadian Projectathon 2023 testing session. If you are not, please switch to the Pan-Canadian Projectathon 2023 session using the Switch button, located in the Title Bar.
  • If you will be performing IUA testing, please follow these instructions IUA Registration Form and Instructions and if applicable to you, fill in the form and submit it to [email protected].
  • Complete this questionnaire CA:Aud_Events_Questionnaire.xlsx and submit it to [email protected].

Connectivity Testing Webinar: February 28, 2023, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM ET


The purpose of this webinar is to provide an overview of the following:

  • Find and execute the connectivity tests in Gazelle
  • Understand the pre-requisites for connectivity testing

Connectivity Testing: February 28 - March 15, 2023


The connectivity testing period will be held from February 28 to March 15, 2023.

Actions for participants

  • Ensure you are familiar with the content shared during the Connectivity Testing webinar (February 28, 2023). To watch a recording of the webinar, see section Connectivity Testing Webinar above.
  • For this Projectathon, the following configuration options should be used:
    • TLS version 1.2 

      • For this Projectathon, you may use any Certificate Authority (e.g., Let's Encrypt) as long as you are configuring for TLS 1.2
      • The following cipher suites are supported when using TLS 1.2:
        • TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384
        • TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_GCM_SHA384
        • TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256
        • TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256
      • Additional details are documented in the Reference Architecture v0.1.1 DFT 
    • One-way TLS authentication (server-side TLS)
  • Depending on your implementations, to confirm your connectivity, run a simple API transaction (e.g., retrieving a capability statement for CA:FeX) using the CA:FeX Simulators

For server-side implementations:

  • Collect the following information for each of your server-side systems and send the information to us at [email protected]:
    • A fixed IP address and port to be used to enable the Gazelle proxy channel
    • Your specific TLS certificate to configure our tools to accept them

Pre-Projectathon Final Touchpoint Webinar: March 15, 2023, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM ET


The purpose of this webinar is to allow participants to ask any final questions prior to the Projectathon event.
