Infoway request for a change (RFC) process for English Content Begins with Requestor 

1. Submit RFC using InfoRMS, include supporting information
2. Infoway reviews RFC and supporting information
3. Is there a code available in Core or Canadian extensionEdition?
   1. If YES
      1. Infoway rejects the RFC as duplicate and provides information on existing code in InfoRMS
      2. End Process
   2. If NO
      1. Continue
4. Does the implementation date allow for direct submission to SNOMED International without authoring in the Canadian Edition?  
   1. If YES 
      1. Go to Step 5 
   2. If NO
      1. Go to Step 6
5. Is Are there sufficient details to proceed? Is the request valid from the domain perspective and does the it meet International acceptance criteria?  
   
   1. If YES 
      1. IHTSDO will publish in future release of Core
      2. It will be submitted to SNOMED International for publication in the International Edition 
      3. End processEnd Process
   2. If NO
      1. Continue
6. Is Does the request considered pan- Canadianmeet criteria for inclusion in the Canadian Edition?
   
   1. If YES 
      
      1. Content with be authored for publication in the Canadian ExtensionEdition
      2. Go to Step 5 or end process End process
   2. If NO  
      1. Request is rejected, submitter will use local code to represent.
      2. End process
