Introduction

The proposed pan-Canadian Interoperable Reference Architecture covers a number of priority areas that share a list of common capabilities that are applied to various clinical/business flows. The systems that implement these capabilities can be represented with standardized interoperability patterns that are reusable across a wider array of eco-system solutions. This specification focuses on highlighting key elements of standardization that can be employed in solution design. The Reference Architecture elements presented in here are patterns that will be referred to in specific priority areas (e.g. PS-CA) that belong to the pan-Canadian Interoperability Program.
