Introduction

The proposed pan-Canadian Interoperable Reference Architecture is a conceptual blueprint that provides a common vocabulary, a common set of information exchange patterns, abstracted actors and transaction necessary to support a common set of use cases. It is invaluable to facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogue, collaboration and convergence towards common standards. Infoway has created a foundational logical reference model representing a subset of typical components of a digital health ecosystem (representing private and public sector solutions) using standardized building blocks (profiles) as defined by the IHE IT Infrastructure domain.
