About the ePrescribing Subsets
The pan-canadian e-Prescribing subsets provide a standardized way for systems to capture, store, retrieve and transmit related health information.
Implementation of the e-Prescribing subsets will allow the community based prescribers (such as physicians and nurse practitioners), either through their existing electronic medical records (EMR) or standalone applications, to enable the electronic transmission of prescriptions to community retail pharmacies.

Data Elements: All of the subsets used in ePrescribing have a set of associated data elements that can be downloaded here.
ICD-10-CA
The Indication for Use subset uses the ICD-10-CA code system which must be appropriately licensed from CIHI before implementation and use. More information about Licening can be found on InfoCentral.
HL7 Subsets
The description field in the HL7 subsets is optional. It was left empty where it did not add to the understanding of the concept definition.
Pre-Adopting Codes

- Medication-CompoundDrugForm (SNOMED CT CA Extension)
