This page provides a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the Projectathon 2025. We will continue to build on this list as additional questions arise.

Projectathons are an important step and best-practice approach in testing and validation of a specification package, where implementers demonstrate live interoperability of solutions in conformance with pan-Canadian specifications. Test scenarios are managed using the Canadian version of the Gazelle interoperability testing platform. Projectathon 2025 will focus on the Specifications listed in the Scope page.

Infoway, in collaboration with provinces and territories, invites vendors to participate in Projectathon 2025.

  • PTs that are implementing pan-Canadian Roadmap specifications should send technical teams with sandbox environments to test solutions alongside vendors.
  • This is your opportunity to show the market that interoperability is supported at your PT level.
  • Encourage your eco-system vendors to also participate!

Projectathon testing will take place form Feb 3 - 7, 2025. Preparation time for testing is difficult to estimate as familiarity with FHIR resources and tooling varies by vendor. Infoway will support vendors to connect to the test environment and to prepare for the event. Continue to “Watch” the Projectathon 2025 InfoScribe page for more details.

This event is not part of a certification program. Projectathon 2025 is focused on the specification listed here, and the goal of this event is to bring implementers together to demonstrate live interoperability and readiness to implement harmonized national and provincial specifications. Detailed test results by vendor solution will be published in the Projectathon 2025 Final Report

No, this event in not part of a certification program. Detailed test results by vendor solution will be published in the Projectathon 2025 Final Report.

  • Vendors will benefit from a single conformance event to demonstrate pre-implementation readiness in multiple provinces, accelerating their readiness across the country.
  • Vendors should be able to build a single codebase for implementation across multiple provinces, supporting small differences through configuration.
  • Vendors that successfully demonstrate interoperability will enhance their brand and demonstrate market leadership. Detailed test results by vendor solution will be published in the Projectathon 2025 Final Report.
  • Vendors will have the opportunity to provide valuable feedback for continuous improvement of the Projectathon conformance process and tooling, as well as the specifications being tested.

Yes, vendors have to complete testing of the specifications listed here. Further details about these specification can be found here.

2025 Projectathon schedule and additional information can be accessed here.

Yes. Though it is not possible to do this directly in the Click Up system, please feel free to send us an email and we will manually manage. For example, if you would like to register the equivalent of 1 person across the week but need to change developers mid week, please just register the 1 developer. Then, send us an email at [email protected] and we will manage the second developer as a replacement manually.

If you have a question that has not been addressed here, you may direct your question(s) to [email protected].
