Projectathons are an important step and best-practice approach in testing and validation of a specification package, where implementers demonstrate live interoperability of solutions in conformance with pan-Canadian specifications. Test scenarios are managed using the Canadian version of the Gazelle interoperability testing platform. Projectathon 2023 will be dedicated to supporting Patient Summary implementation projects across Canada and is focused on testing the harmonized national and provincial interoperability Patient Summaries specifications (i.e., PS-CA, PS-ON, PS-AB). Testing will focus on the secure exchange, document format and content validation of FHIR patient summary documents. |

Two days of effort per vendor are generally sufficient for testing after suitable preparation. Preparation time is difficult to estimate as familiarity with FHIR resources and tooling varies by vendor.
