The Canadian Edition package includes one (1) set of files for referencing the Canadian English (EN CA), French (FR CA) and reference sets content and the January 2018 version of SNOMED CT International. This publication format is provided to Canadian stakeholders to facilitate implementation if there is no need to use the Canadian Extension* files separately. The content of this package has been pre-computed and harmonized based on the module dependency when several extensions are merged.

The package is a zip file that includes text files in the RF2 format as per the SNOMED International specifications. The files provide the three (3) types of releases: full, delta and snapshot. Each type of release file includes refset files and terminology core files.

*  The Extension package will be available only upon request. It consists of three (3) different modules and files that can be implemented individually: there is a module for the EN CA content, one for the FR CA content and one for the References sets that are in scope for the release.

    2. New subset created: Refer to the Current Release Notes
    3. Subset inactivated: Refer to the Curent Release Notes

  3. Issues resolved
    1. Inactivated all Canadian Diagnostic Imaging Abbreviation to decrease the number of Canadian Edition descriptions and rely on the international descriptions instead
    2. Inactivated all Ontario local terms because these have not been implemented by other Jurisdictions in Canada therefore they do not qualify as  pan-Canadian terms
